Alchimie is the capsule collection that expands and continues the research conducted by Incalmi together with designers Debonademeo.

Second part of the research project started with the Ossimori collection, previewed at the last Milan Design Week, Alchimie also stems from a reflection on oxymoron, i.e. the juxtaposition of two opposite concepts - in this case REALISM/ALCHEMICAL.

If the alchemy of the past dreamed of turning metals into gold, that of Incalmi and Debonademeo succeeds in the intent of turning glass powder into something else. The collection consists of vases, trays and lamps that evolve the potential of Murano glass and metal, evoking the textures of marble and hard stones. The objects have essential and iconic shapes: they are composed of small geometric and modular volumes to be superimposed between them, creating different silhouettes from time to time. Holding the elements together is a hexagonal ring in champagne-colored metal, which while being a functional element, symbolically represents their alchemical union.

Games of shades, streaks and imaginative textures characterize the surfaces, telling and making more contemporary than ever the ancient craftsmanship of which Incalmi is the ambassador and guardian. The techniques are inspired by history and territory: the traditional working of Murano glass coexists with copper enameling, on which Incalmi has pivoted its recent research arriving at interesting new outcomes, in this case galvanic finishing. The common denominator of the techniques used in the Alchimie collection is glass powder, with which plays of transparency and effects are achieved, that required several days of experimentation. The carefully designed color variants are inspired by the natural hues of marble and hard stones.
Alchimie will be previewed at Edit Napoli 2023, alongside the Ossimori collection, in the cloister called Atrio dei Marmi inside the State Archives of Naples.
