Mercurio
Collection of copper vases with enamelled interior and burnished or enamelled exterior. Unlike the Novae vases, the Mercurio vases are characterised by a rougher, more irregular appearance. Hot enamel on copper is a complex craft technique, that dates back to the 1950s. Industrialised by only two companies in Italy, De Poli of Padua and Dal Campo of Milan, it was abandoned in the Seventies and is nowadays being recovered by Incalmi, which is rebuilding its tradition.
